5/23/2025

Dry season is starting to mellow down and temperatures are a bit bipolar, one minute is hot and then it starts to rain the next. We are all looking for a quick escape from the heat. This is the time when most Filipinos are out and about exploring the Philippines and looking for a last-minute “summer” adventure. Together with MAGWAI, I have listed 5 PH destinations that you can explore this dry season to satisfy your travel cravings. These choice destinations will make you climb high, explore, and dive down to the beauty of the Philippines.

How was your summer?
Just before we start hitting the road, it is important that we get protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Putting on sunscreen gives you that UV protection that prevents sunburn, skin irritations, and skin inflammations. MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen does exactly that. It gives you that layer of sun protection while exploring PH destinations.

Mount Kabunian, Bakun

Mount Kabunian is said to be the home of the supreme Cordilleran god, Kabunyan. The sacred mountain lies along the borders of Benguet and Ilocos Sur and stands at 1789 meters above sea level. With that height, the views along the trail and at the top is simply breathtaking. The trail to the peak of Mount Kabunyan is part of a centuries-old trading trail between the Ilocanos and the Cordillerans.

Mount Kabunian was a challenging BUT it was an amazing spot to enjoy the views from above.
Hiking to the top of Mount Kabunian is not for the faint of heart. The trail that goes around Mount Gegedlayan may deceive you because of its easy hike. But once you cross the hanging bridge that connects Mount Gegedlayan and Mount Kabunian, the ascent to the peak is going to be a challenging one. The mountain trail of Mount Kabunian is tiring and relentless with its continuous ascent. The trail also offers minimal shaded rest places. It puts you at the mercy of the sun and the hot rock surfaces of the mountain.

The rising sun casts amazing colors on the mountain side.

The views along the trail are breathtaking.
The trail of Mount Kabunian are just full on ascent.
The mountains of the Cordilleras was mesmerizing.
Taking in the view of the peak while catching our breath.
Given the set-up, I perspire a lot and that is one of the reasons why I am not a fan of sunscreens. I do not like the heavy feeling of sunblock on my skin and the greasy feel mixed with my sweat when I am exploring the mountains or enjoying the sun and sand. But I have found that MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen did not give me that greasy and sticky feel when I engage in heavy activities under the sun like hiking Mount Kabunian. It is easily absorbed by the skin and feels very light when applied. It makes my skin breathe so I don’t get that greasy feeling even when I am perspiring during a heavy activity.

Mount Kabunian challenged me and it gave me a great view as a reward.

MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is part of my travel kit. It protects me from the rays of the sun without the greasy feel.
Taking a quick break before hitting the trail back to the Poblacion.
The reward from the hike are the amazing views of the Cordillera-mountain ranges. The beautiful views along the trail will help you keep your motivation to keep pushing forward. The biggest reward would be the panoramic view at the top of Mount Kabunian. You realize that all the puffing and huffing was worth it while looking at the majestic mountain ranges of the Cordillera. Mararamdaman mo talaga na sumakses ka!

Intramuros, Manila

Fret not urbanites because you can still get to enjoy exploring in this hot weather even if you are in the city. From parks to museums to malls, Metro Manila is host to many destinations that can also make you enjoy the dry weather in the city. History lovers could easily fall in love with Intramuros for its rich and colorful stories shared within its walls. It is a great way to start understanding and appreciating urban Manila life.
Picture
Intramuros is a perfect spot to explore on warmer PH days. It gives you a glimpse of the old Manila hot weather.
The Walled City of Intramuros is a pocket of history in the middle of the metro. An afternoon walk within its walls will give you great insights on the rich and colorful beginnings of Manila. Fort Santiago shares its painful story that haunts its walls and dungeons. The Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Church walks you through the strong faith of the Filipinos. Museums, old houses, and cobble-stone streets within the walls give you a glimpse of the life inside the walls when it was still the center of Manila.

The Manila Cathedral is a mute witness to the glory and horror of the past.

Heritage Bahay-na-Bato houses and cobble-stone streets bring you back to the colorful past of Manila.
A view of the Puerta Real, one of the gates to the Walled Intramuros.
Riding a kalesa is a great way to explore the walled city.
Baluarte de San Diego was one of the fortresses of the walled city.
Walking within and along the walls of Intramuros is one of the most relaxing things to do in the metro especially in the late afternoon. The sea breeze from Manila Bay is a refreshing relief from the hot weather as you enjoy the warm colors of the sun setting. Watching the metro in motion from the walls gives you a different understanding of the urban living in Metro Manila.

Fort Santiago was the last home of the Dr. Jose Rizal before he was executed at Bagong Bayan.

The San Agustin Church is the oldest church in the country and has an underground cemetery within its walls.
Casa Manila gives you a glimpse of how the prominent families lived inside the walls.
MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is good for everyday use, whether you are at the beach, mountain, or the city!
I find the ruins of heritage structures in Intramuros interesting.
As you explore Intramuros, you get to meet a lot of people doing the same. Some of them have this white cast on their skin obviously showing that they have applied sunscreen. This is one of the reasons why I don’t use sunscreen in the past. But with MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen, I have started to use sunscreen regularly. A pea size amount on the face that I spread evenly on my face does not leave any sunscreen cast on my face, even when I apply it on my body. I get to protect myself from the sun without worrying about looking white from the sunscreen application. Litaw kasi yun lalo na at kulay Pinoy ako. I do not get conscious of people giving you that look because I put on sunscreen on my moreno skin. This makes it ideal for daily use, even when I am not out exploring.

Subic Beach, Matnog

I love the sun and hitting the beach would always mean getting my dose of the sun for hours. I always end up getting sunburned because I am not used to using sunscreen. A recent trip to Subic Beach in Matnog, Sorsogon made me realize the importance of putting on MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen. I did not get sunburned even after spending hours under the sun. With frequent application, I got protected from the harmful rays while getting my dose of that summer tan.

MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is a perfect companion that protects your skin from UV rays.
Subic Beach was my top PH destination in 2024. Located on the southern end of Luzon, the beach is one of the few pink beach spots in the country. The shoreline of the beach look off-white from afar but the light pink hues become evident when you get a closer look at its fine sand. Subic Beach is the main tourism draw of Matnog.

I was lucky that there very few guests when I visited the island. I got the chance to find my own corner on the island and enjoy the rustic and tranquil vibe of Subic Beach. At one point, I had part of the beach all for myself and I was just enjoying the sun, sand, and sea without the crowd. It was just me. The island gave me a much-needed rest, reset, and it re-charged me. It was the finale of my #GOT69Sorsogon trip.

Juag Fish Sanctuary offers face-to-face fish interactions
The bamboo balsa takes you to the viewdeck in the middle of Juag Lagoon.

Juag Fish Sanctuary lets you swim with their fish residents.
The bangka ride also comes with a quick tour of the surrounding attractions in the area. I enjoyed a quick stop at the Juag Fish Lagoon where I enjoyed watching huge fish chomp up on the fish food thrown at them. The view deck at the center of the sanctuary offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the Juag Lagoon. The sanctuary serves as a safe place for fish breeding and was built to raise awareness on the importance of preserving the natural balance at sea.

Malapascua Island

Malapascua Island is an island that has long-been on my travel bucket list. It is a popular diving destination because of its resident thresher sharks. Being a non-diver, I gave it much thought in what I can do to enjoy the island. I guess I thought wrong because I got to enjoy it, above land and under its waters.
Picture
Enjoying Malapascua Island as a non-diver.
A land tour on Malapascua had me trekking to its resident lighthouse, exploring its white sand beach spots, and enjoying the views of its rock formations. North Beach is their white sand paradise. The powdery white sand and its laidback vibe will make you fall in love with this beach spot. Whether it’s raining or sun’s striking down on you, North Beach’s charm will surely get to you.

North Beach is my fave spot in Malapascua.

Get your adrenaline high by jumping off a cliff.
Enjoying the early morning sun at Bounty Beach.
Malapascua let's you enjoy the rustc tropical vibe of the island.
Malapascua got its name from "Malas sa Pascua" because it always rains on the island during Christmas.
Here’s the thing… you can still get to enjoy the beauty of Malapascua’s vibrant underwater scene even if you are not a diver. Boat tours around the island allow you to enjoy snorkeling above the coral gardens off the shores of the island. You can also get the chance to catch baby sharks swimming along the shallow waters of Dakit-Dakit. You don’t need to swim deep to enjoy its coral gardens. Geared with a snorkel, I got to enjoy the vibrant sea scene along the shallow waters of the island.

There are a lot snorkeling spots in Malapascua where you get to enjoy the vibrant underwater scene.
Did you know that MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is coral-friendly?
Enjoyed exploring the Japanese Shipwreck in Malapascua even if I am not a diver.
A major factor when I use products is its effect to the environment. I always choose eco-friendly products when I am traveling. That is why I like using MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen.  It is coral friendly and using it does not have any adverse affect on marine life. I can enjoy snorkeling under the sun safely without harming the reefs. I also make sure that after a day of exploring, I also use the MAGWAI Shampoo Bar in cleaning my hair. I get that nice clean soft hair without the plastic one-time shampoo sachets.

Siargao Island

The island of Siargao has been getting a lot of buzz on social media because of the “afams” who visit the island. But this island has been popular among Pinoys as a tropical paradise. An island where you can enjoy the provincial Pinoy vibe and hospitality. A place where you get to enjoy living like a local.
Picture
I love the island vibe of Siargao.
Talking about going local, I also push for the promotion of local products while promoting local destinations. That is the reason why I also choose MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen because it is a Filipino product that can provide superior protection against UV rays. It is a local product that puts value on being environmentally safe to use. Remember to always choose local!
Picture
Siargao is more than just a durfing destination.
Picture
The island perfectly fuses rustic chill and adrenaline high.
The landscape of Siargao is like a punch. It is tropical with a rugged hit.
Enjoying the calm vibe of the Sugba Lagoon.
Enjoying the laidback vibe of Daku.
The best way to enjoy Siargao is to see the beauty of the island the way locals do. Hop on a motorcycle and explore the island, from the rock pools of Magpupungko to the calm waters of Sugba Lagoon. Go with a local surfer and enjoy learning how to ride the waves of Cloud 9. Cap the day off with a local party chill in one of the “hidden” parties on the island.

Enjoyed nature tripping at Sohoton.

You can swim with the jellyfish at Sohoton.
MAGWAI Sheer Mineral Sunscreen is a local product that is coral-friendly.
Siargao is an island that is simple and easy to fall in love with.
The surrounding islands in Siargao also holds a lot of amazing adventures. The Bucas Grande adventure lets you explore caves and waters of Sohoton Cove. It also gives you a unique experience of swimming with the jellyfish. You can enjoy the rest of the afternoon beach bumming on the white sand shores of Naked, Daku, and Guyam Islands. Finally, you can chill down with a nice cold drink while watching the sunset at Cloud 9 Boardwalk. This is what island living is in Siargao.

how much is gold plated jewelry worth link
6/1/2025 03:59:23 pm

Gold plated jewelry refers to items made from a base metal, such as brass or copper, that are coated with a thin layer of gold. This coating is typically applied using electroplating. Although it gives the appearance of solid gold, the actual gold content is minimal.
